Hibs revealed today that the club will apply for MORE tickets for the CIS Cup Final clash with Kilmarnock at Hampden in two weeks (18th March).

Hibs were handed an initial 26,000 tickets for the clash and have applied for more, it's expected they will receive a further 3-5,000 tickets for the game.

The Hi-Bees sold an astonishing 11,000 tickets on the first day of sale and people were still queuing at
7.30pm last night.

It has also been reported that Hibs supporters also started queuing as early as
6.30am this morning in the scramble for tickets.

Hibs director Garry O'Hagan said:

"For sales on day one this is most definitely a record at a time when we are only dealing with season ticket holders.

"Although there is the ability to buy on-line and over the hotline there are still supporters who like to do things in the traditional way and so they started queuing in the early hours of yesterday morning and by the time the office opened there were about 300 waiting and throughout the day there was a queue.

"As the ticket office opened the hotline also burst into life and our operator tells us they were dealing with a greater number of calls than they receive from supporters of the English Premiership clubs, such as Arsenal, whom they represent.

"There was intense telephone activity with 80 operators taking calls at the peak period and as a result of all the different access points we sold an incredible 11,000 tickets yesterday.

"However, with the on-line and telephone sales running 24 hours a day it is a very fluid situation, these methods of buying make it far more convenient for supporters to get their tickets.

"Given the phenomenal level of sales on the first day we have already made representations for additional tickets."

Excellent news, the more Hibby's at Hampden the better!
