Hibs boss Tony Mowbray today revealed that trialist Berry Powel won't be offered a deal, yet!!!

Hibs have told Powel to and work on his fitness, he has gone home to
Holland to do just that.

The player has had NO pre-season training after leaving Millwall under freedom of contract at the end of last season.

Powel has been at Hibs for 2 weeks on trial and has done himself no harm in getting a contract by scoring in a closed door game against Stenhousemuir.

The in last night's 3-2 friendly win over English Premiership side Charlton Athletic, he looked lively and powerful and hit the post with a strong header.

Hibs boss Mowbray said: "Berry has been here a week, he's had three or four training sessions and played two half games. He's done all right but he's had six or eight weeks off and only one week's training.

"It wouldn't be fair to judge him so he'll go back to Holland today and, I'd imagine, arrange with a club there to go training."

"We'll wait and see what develops over the next week or two. We will keep an eye on him. He will have to get himself fit somewhere in Holland and then we'll both decide what he wants to do."
