Hibs Winger Ivan Sproule Cleared To Play In Aberdeen Scottish Cup Clash!

Hibs received a massive boost ahead of tommorow night's Scottish Cup 3rd Round clash against Aberdeen at Pittodrie, with the news that jet heeled winger Ivan Sproule is free to play in the match.

Sproule was sent off in last year's semi final against Hearts and it was thought his ban would carry through to this year, but the SFA have confirmed that because Sproule was sent off for violant conduct, which carries an automatic suspension in the next game, was suspended for Hibs following SPL clash against Kilmarnock and therefore has served his ban.

SFA spokesman Drew Herbertson said:

"Depending on the category of offence, serious ones, if I can call them that, such as violent conduct, serious foul play and spitting, cut across all competitions.

"Sproule was sent off for violent conduct and because of that he automatically missed Hibs' next SPL match and so the suspension arising out of his red card during the Tennent's Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts was served last season."

This is good news for Hibs with Merouane Zemmama already out injured, Kevin Thomson out suspended and with Scott Brown also struggling with a hamstring injury.
