Hibs have today confirmed that striker Kieron Bowie has signed for Italian side Hellas Verona.

The Scotland international has signed for a club record fee recieved, in a £6m deal, with another £1m in add-ons and a sell-on clause.

The Hibees signed the 23-year-old from Fulham in a £600,000 deal 18 months ago, that deal had a sell-on clause of 20% of any profit, which means the English club will get £1,080,000 from the transfer, leaving Hibs with just shy of £5m.

Bowie played 52 times for Hibs scoring 15 times, including goals against Hearts and Rangers and an incredible, 35 plus yard volley against Partizan Belgrade in this seasons Uefa Conference League.

He also picked up his caps for Scotland.

Speaking to the official club website, Bowie left a parting message:

"I would like to thank all my teammates, coaches and staff at Hibernian FC for their support during my time at the Club.

"I loved playing for and representing Hibs and enjoyed some amazing memories with a fantastic group of people, and I hope to be back to visit Easter Road in the future.

"I will always look back fondly on my time with the Club and wish everyone every success moving forward."

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

It's absolutely gutting to loose such a good player.

It feels like we never got to see him in full swing, and that there was a hell of a lot more to come from him.

However, the fee is not something Hibs can turn down, and something they can re-invest in the squad and club.

Good luck to Kieron with his new club, smash it kid!
