Brechin City 0-2 Hibernian

Hibs got back to winning ways last night with a win over Second division side, Brechin City at Glebe Park.

The Hibees played there first pre-season friendly last week, while on the pre-season trip to Austria against SV Vocklabruck, losing 3-2 to the Austrians.

Brechin City, managed by ex Hibs player Michael O'Neill, put up a tough fight for the Hibees, holding out to half time with the game tied at 0-0.

Although Hibs did have a lot of chances.

Hibs took control in the second half though, with new boy Alan O'Brien at the heart of most of the games more exciting action. It was O'Brien's blistering pace and skill that helped Hibs take the lead, just like last week in Austria, O'Brien skipped past a couple of players before crossing for Benji to crash the ball home with his right foot.

Hibs second came in the last minute, but was rather fortunate, Dean Shiels crossed the ball from out wide and new boy Clayton Donaldson's header crashed off the bar and landed at the feet of David Murphy, who's shot beat the keeper but came crashing back off the post, landing back at the feet of Donaldson. The striker made no mistake the second time, dispatching the ball beyond the Brechin keeper.
