Hibs defender Sol Bamba is apparently a target for English Championship side Cardiff City.
The Ivory Coast international has been a revelation at the Hibees since joining from Dunfermline Athletic for £50,000 last summer.
As well as Cardiff City, a number of other English clubs are said to be monitoring the 24-year-old's situation.
Hibs boss John Hughes is keen to keep the powerful Bamba at Easter Road and he said:
"Sol came in last season and I think he came on in leaps and bounds and really developed his game.
"I watched Hibs quite a lot last season and I was impressed by the way he handled himself.
"You know exactly what you are going to get from him, he's consistent. I want to work with him and to keep him at the club. He doesn't start back training with us until next week because he was involved in games for the Ivory Coast but I'm looking forward to working with him."
