Charlton Athletic recall defender Zac Mitchell from Hibs loan

Charlton Athletic have recalled defender Zac Mitchell from his loan deal with Hibs, with the English side recalling him early due to lack f game time in Edinburgh.

The youngster joined the Hibees on loan for the season, on tranfser deadline day of the summer transfer window, with the deal needing UEFA approval, as it approached the deadline hour of the window.

The 21-year-old had an impressive loan spell with St Johnstone last season, and it was hoped he would have another impressive campaign in Leith.

However, he failed to establish himself in the Hibees defence, only making 1 start, albeit an impressive performance against Dundee United at Tannadice, and another as a substitute, meaning he leaves Easter Road after only 2 appearances.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

Not a surprised this one.

Zac has never really been given a run in the side, and his parent club would have been looking for him to get more game time after good loan spells with St Johnstone and Colchester United.

Hibs now find themselves a player down in defence.

The Hibees have not been active in this window yet, which is dissapointing considering we need to bolster  couple of positions badly.

Saturday's awful cup defeat at the hands of Championship side Dunfermline futher emphasized that need, ahead of the league run-in.
