Current Hibs trialist Fabian Yantorno is to play his first game for the Hibees tonight in the pre-season friendly with Cowdenbeath at
Central Park.

The 25-year-old Uruguayan playmaker is on his way back from a serious knee injury that he picked up playing for now defunct
Gretna in January against Falkirk.

He was released by Gretna not long after, and Hibs boss Mixu Paatelainen offered the player the use of the Hibees new £5.1m state-of-the-art training facility at Tranent, to continue and complete his rehabilitation.

The agreement was that if Yantorno can prove his fitness, then the Hibees have first option on the player.

Hibs boss Paatelainen has today revealed that Yantorno will step up his fight for fitness tonight against the Blue Brazil and play some part in the game.

The Hibs boss said:

"Fabian is not 100 per cent yet, he has been training and has looked okay but obviously his sharpness is not up to what it could and should be. But he's working towards it.

"I'll see how tonight's game goes, but it is my intention to give him part of the match. However, it is also important we do not ask too much of him at this stage and run the risk of him suffering a setback by picking up another injury."

Good wee player Yantorno, let's hope he can return to his previous form and that we sign him.
