Hibs striker James Collins has today signed for English League Two side Shrewsbury Town.

The 23-year-old has returned for a second spell at Greenhouse Meadow, having initially played for the club back in 2011 before his move to Swindon Town.

Collins only managed 6 goals in 40 appearances in a green and white shirt, following a reported £200,000 (in reallity it was closer to £100,000) move from Swindon Town last summer.

Despite his excellent work rate, the English forward struggled in front of goal, shockingly, his last goal came for the club in mid January, when he scored two, in a 2-3 home defeat to St Mirren.

Shrewsbury are said to have taken up the last two years of his Hibs contract and added a 25% sell-on clause to land the player without a fee.

Collins becomes the 15th player to leave the club in Terry Butcher's summer cull, following relegation to the Championship.

One things for sure, George Street is going to be quieter on a Saturday night......
