It has been revealed tonight, that former Hibs midfielder Ross Chisholm has signed for Irish side Shamrock Rovers.

The 21-yer-old has signed for Rovers, managed by former Hibs midfield maestro Michael O’Neill, until the end of the current Irish season.

Chisholm was released by new Hibs gaffer John Hughes, despite being promised a new contract at Easter Road, thought to have been a 3-year-deal, by former boss Mixu Paatelainen.

O’Neill was delighted with his latest capture, he said:

"We had Ross over for the friendly against Newcastle United. He made quite an impression and we're delighted to have signed him."

O'Neill added: "Along with our other recent signings, Ross adds depth to our squad. He's a very good central midfielder and he's keen to make an impression at Shamrock Rovers."

Chisholm played 43 games for the Hibees.

Hibs lost a pre-season friendly 1-0 against Shamrock Rovers just two weeks ago.

Hibernian-Mad would like to take this opportunity to wish Ross the best of luck at his new club.
