Freed Hibs pair McPake and Thomson join Dundee

As Hibs and their fans face up to the fact they will be playing Championship football next season, some of the players that put them there are already signing for, or being lined up with moves to to other clubs.

Former captains James Mcpake and Kevin Thomson have both today been confirmed as new signings for SPL new boys Dundee.

Both were released on Monday, following the club's play-off loss to Hamilton Accies last Sunday at Easter Road.

McPake and Thomson, both 29, signed two-year-deals with the Championship Champions.

Also in the news is that Paul Cairney, another of the players freed by boss Terry Butcher, is attarcting interest from Dundee Utd and Kilmarnock.

Finally, club captain Liam Craig, who has been told he is free to find another club, despite still being under contract with the Hibees, is said to be on the radar of both former club, Scottish Cup winners, St Johnstone, and League Cup winners Aberdeen.
