Ex Hibs striker Abdessalam Benjelloun has become the first of the players freed by boss John Hughes to find a new club.

The Moroccan international has signed for German Second division side Greuther Furth

25-year-old “Benji” has signed a two-year-deal, and Furth are hoping he can spearhead their promotion charge next season.

Benjelloun has had a colourful career at Easter Road, from scoring goals that helped deliver the clubs first trophy in 16 years, the CIS Cup in 2007, to his falling out’s with former manager Mixu Paatelainen, and the loan periods in Belgium that followed.

Benji should feel at home, as Gurth play in Green & White.

Hibernian-Mad would like to take this opportunity to wish Benji the very best of luck as his new club.
