Friendly Result - Hibs 0-0 Sunderland

Hibs played out their last "pre-season friendly" today, against Premiership side Sunderland at Easter Road.

The Hibees are already two weeks into the SPL season, but were given special dispensation to set-up a "glamour" pre-season game, with a home SPL game against St Johnstone moved to the 28th September to compensate for the game.

The game itself was pretty non eventful, finishing 0-0, with chances at a minimum.

Hibs created very little chances throughout the game, with Ian Murray having the Hibees only effort of worth in the first half.

The game become more lively towards the end, with Hibs sub Ross Caldwell blasting a gilt edged chance wide from 12 yards, with only the keeper to beat.

Paul Hanlon also could have scored in the dying seconds with a header, but his effort was just over.

Seb Larsson was Sunderland's best player with his quality delivery from dead ball situations.

The game was marred a little, both before and after, with reports of trouble between the rival supporters on the streets of Edinburgh.

The Hibs line-up was:

Brown, Hart (Palsson 4'), Booth (Sproule 72'), Stephens, Hanlon, Murray (Smith 59'), De Graaf (Stevenson 88'), Horner (Taggart 79'), Galbraith (Thornhill 79'), O'Connor (Caldwell 59'), Wotherspoon (Crawford 26').
