According to reports in today’s tabloids, Hibs striker Derek Riordan is a target for German Bundesliga side Nuremberg. The 27-year-old is currently in dispute with the Hibees, after receiving a fine from the club, for criticising the pitch at Easter Road. This has alerted the German sides manager Dieter Hecking, who tried to sing Riordan before, in 2007, but he chose to sign for Celtic instead. It’s thought a number of championship clubs are interested in his signature, as well as a few clubs in the Far East. Riordan has had yet another good season in front of goal in the green and white, scoring 16 goals so far, and this in a season when he has been playing on the left of midfield, instead of his preferred position of striker.
