Good and bad news for Colgan

No 1 Nick Colgan has been banned for one match following the 2-1 derby defeat last Saturday at Easter Road.

The Republic of Ireland 'B' cap was called into the dressing room of referee Willie Young after the Hearts match, and given a yellow card for 'adopting a threatening manner' to Jambos striker Ricardo Fuller in the tunnel.

This was his second yellow of the game, his first was only minutes before when he took his protests too far to ref Young, being convinced Jamaican Fuller took a dive. Colgan has since apologised to Fuller for the accusation, having watched the incident on TV.

Former Carlisle, Blackpool, and Charlton Athletic goalkeeper Tony Caig will deputise for Colgan.

On a lighter note for the ex Chelsea and Bournemouth 'keeper, he has been included in Mick McCarthy's Ireland squad to Denmark in a friendly at Lansdowne Road on March 27th. He will provide cover for Newcastle's in form Shay Given, and Charlton's Dean Kiely.

On the international front, John O'Neil, Ian Murray, Garry O'Connor, and the already called up Gary Caldwell will have the chance to impress new Scotland boss when Berti Vogts takes in Hibs clash with Dundee United at Tannadice this Saturday.
