Hanlon Testimonial: Hibs 0-2 Blackburn

Last updated : 08 July 2018 By Steve Forbes

Hibs lost their latest and final pre-season game this afternoon, as the faced off against Blackburn Rovers in Paul Hanlon's Testimonial.

The Hibees lost out to two second-half goals from former Dundee Utd winger Craig Conway and Willem Tomlinson.

Hibs were the better side first half and created a few chances against a young Blackburn side, but the visitors made 11 changes at half time, bringing on much more experienced players and it showed, as they ran out comfortable winners in the end.

Paul Halon was given a day to remember, and will, of course, go down a cup winning legend.

Hibs fans got to see a glimpse of new boy Stevie Mallan, and there was a great reception for former boss Tony Mowbray.

The Hibees now move on to Thursday's Europa League First Qualifying Round clash with Faroe Islands side NSI Runavik.

Hibs XI:

Bogdan (Laidlaw, 45), Gray (Whittaker, 72), Stevenson (Mackie, 74), Hanlon, McGregor, Bartley (Martin, 74), McGinn (Slivka, 62), Ambrose (Boyle, 45), Kamberi, Shaw (Murray, 72), Swanson (Mallan, 62).
