Hibs agree compensation package with Dundee for Josh Mulligan

Hibs and Dundee have both announced today that they have agreed a compensation package for midfielder Josh Mulligan.

The 23-year-old joined the Hibees this past summer under freedom of contract, but because Dundee offered a new, improved deal to the player, combined with his age, meant the Easter Road side would be due compensation for his signing.

The deal has been reported as "undisclosed" but respected website Transfermrkt has the fee at around £700,000.

Speaking to the official club wbsite, Hibernian FC Sporting Director Malky Mackay said:

"Josh is an exciting young Scottish talent and we have been pleased with his development since his arrival this summer. We look forward to seeing continued progression in his game.

“We would also like to thank Dundee for the amicable negotiations and agreed outcome.”

HIBS MAD VIEW

Good to see the club paying Dundee a fair fee, for a player turning into a fantastic signing.

Mulligan has a big future and has already forced his way into the Scotland squad.

A shrewd signing by the club.
