According to reports in today's media, Hibs want to sign Reading forward Marc McNulty.
The Hibees have apparently had a first offer turned down by the Championship club, but are expected to return with an improved offer.
McNulty, 26, is no stranger to Easter Road, having been part of the club's academy when he was younger.
It's thought McNulty is keen on a return to Scotland after his move to the Madejski Stadium didn't turn out how he wanted after a prolific spell with Coventry City.
Hibs are hopeful of landing the former Livingston player before the transfer window closes on Thursday, despite effectively having no manager, following Neil Lennon's suspension.
