Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has today heaped praise on midfielder Lewis Stevenson.

The 24-year-old's performances over the last few months in a green and white shirt have been superb.

Stevenson, who became a dad for the first time on Friday night, had been a bit-part player at Easter Road over the past few seasons, but since Fenlon's arrival his form has went through the roof.

The former Scotland under 21 player returning to the form that earned him rave reviews, and a man-of-the-match award in the Hibees 5-1 CIS Cup Final win over Kilmarnock in 2007.

Hibs boss Fenlon said:

“Lewis has had a lot on his mind and he’ll have a few sleepless nights now for a while but he has been fantastic, exactly what you want as a footballer.

“Lewis shows what you need in a player where we are at the moment, that fight, determination and desire, not to be afraid to get on the ball and to go and play.

“He’s never a problem, he comes in every day, gets on with his game, never moans or groans and does a mountain of work on the pitch. He’s brilliant to have around.”
