Hibs boss John Collins has today moved to deny rumours that he has been contacted by the SFA about the vacant Scotland manager's job.

Alex McLeish left the post last month, after
Scotland's exit at the lat hurdle from the Euro 2008 qualifying campaign, to take over at English Premiership side Birmingham City.

One of this morning's papers had insisted that Collins had been approached by a third party on behalf of the SFA about the vacancy, but the Hibs boss has moved to rubbish the story.

Collins said:

"As always, I'm flattered to be linked with the national job, but I've no doubt they will be talking about someone else tomorrow. I have a contract with Hibs and there has definitely been no contact with anyone from the SFA."

It's not the first time Collins has been linked with another job since taking over as Hibs manager from Tony Mowbray last season.

He was approached by English side QPR, but refused to speak to them, telling of his willingness to honour his contract at Easter Road.

He was also touted about for both the
Derby County and Wigan jobs in the English Premiership and also the job of Norwich City manager in the English Championship, but these links proved unreliable.
