Hibs chasing Coventry City winger Roy O'Donovan

Hibs have today been linked with a move for Coventry City winger Roy O'Donovan.

Our friends over on Coventry City Mad are reporting that the Irish player is set to become the second Sky Blues player on loan at Easter Road, following James McPake's move this week.

O'Donovan, 26, has struggled to hold down a place in the Coventry side since signing from Sunderland in 2010.

He started his career with Coventry as a trainee, but was released. From there he went on to play for Cork City, scoring 31 goals in 71 games that earned him a £1m move to Sunderland in 2007.

Sunderland then loaned him out a number of times to allow him to gain first team experience, with such clubs as Dundee Utd, Blackpool, Southend and Hartlepool.

Unfortunately for O'Donovan a number of injury's restricted his chances at the Stadium of Light, and he left in 2010 to sign a 3-year-deal with Coventry.

He has been capped at B and U21 level for the Republic of Ireland.

Pat Fenlon is now said to be keen to bring the player to Edinburgh on loan for the rest of the season.
