According to numerous reports, Hibs have entered the race to sign Sheffield Wednesday striker Bailey Cadamarteri.
Journalist Alan Nixon reported earlier today that the Hibees had tabled a bid in the region of £1m for the Jamaican international.
However, a number of other reports have suggested that no bid has been lodged, but David Gray IS keen to bring the 20-year-old to Easter Road.
The latest news, coming from the Sheffield Star, suggests Hibs HAVE tabled a bid, but it's in the region of £500,000, and it's still in the hands of the administrators, and it's not clear if the bid has been rejected or not yet, as Gray looks to bolster his attacking options.
Wednesday rejected a bid from Blackburn Rovers in the summer, said to be north of a million, but now that the Hillsborough club are in administration, they may need to accept a lower offer, that could play into the Edinburgh sides hands.
Cadamarteri, son of former Dundee United striker Danny, started his career coming through the Wednesday academy, he has played 52 games and scored 7 times.
He also had a loan spell with Lincoln City, playing 31 times and scoring 8 goals, as well as playing 4 times for Jamaica and scoring 1 goal.
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW:
The Hibees have been crying out for another target-man type forward since losing Myko last summer.
Cadamarteri would bring some much needed competition for Kieron Bowie, who, at times this season, has looked like he could do with a rest.
Hibs have also been linked with Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes, and York striker Josh Stones.
It'll be interesting to see if an offer has been submitted for Cadamarteri.
One to keep an eye on.
