Hibs close in on Alan Gow loan deal

Last updated : 14 January 2010 By Steve Forbes

Hibs are tonight thought to be close to signing Plymouth Argyle forward Alan Gow on loan.

The former Falkirk, Rangers & Norwich City player is currently out of the picture at the Pilgrims, and has worked with Hibs boss John Hughes before.

Former Hibs boss John Collins tried to sign Gow for Hibs while the player was at Falkirk, at the time he chose to go to Ibrox.

Gow, 27, has made 13 appearances and scored 2 goals in his time at Plymouth since signing last August, and would add more quality to an already excellent Hibees squad.

With Gow able to play anywhere across the midfield as well as up front, it would give Hughes even more options as they push for a European spot at the end of the season.

Hibs have already secured the signing of former Motherwell & Rangers keeper Graeme Smith during this window, and it seems Gow is close to joining him at Easter Road.
