Hibs boss John Collins has admitted that a deal could be close for a mystery forward to arrive at Easter Road before tonight's transfer deadline passes.

The summer transfer window closes at
midnight tonight and Hibs have been on the look out for a powerful hit man all summer.

The Hibees gaffer has looked at a number of strikers including DSV Leoben forward Arno Kozelsky, French forward Michael Antoine-Curier and Slovenian Tomislav Misaru over the summer and it now seems a deal could be imminent.

The Hibs boss said:

"I'm hopeful that by the end of today we'll have made a signing, a striker. We have needed to fill a certain position but we know other managers are looking for the same thing.

"Everyone is hopeful, optimistic but we also know nothing is guaranteed in football when it comes to making signings. You think it's going to happen and it doesn't because someone else steps in or for a variety of different reasons, even more so with the introduction of the transfer windows.

"How close can you be? You never know until it happens but I'm prepared to work on this until
midnight if need be."
