Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has today completed his fourth signing of the January transfer window.

Following in the footsteps of Matt Thornhill from Nottingham Forest, Martin Scott from Ross County, and the loan signing of Ritchie Towell from Celtic, Hibs have today completed the signing of midfielder Victor Palsson.

The 19-year-old Icelandic has joined the Hibees for an undisclosed fee, and could go straight into the squad for Sunday’s clash with Dundee Utd at Tannadice.

Palsson started his career in his homeland with Fylkir, before signing for AGF Aarhus, his talent was spotted by Liverpool scouts, and he signed for the Anfield club in a reported £300,000 deal in 2009.

He established himself in the Liverpool reserve side and spent time on loan with Dagenham and Redbridge earlier this season.

Hibs boss Colin Calderwood has moved to take him to Easter Road on an 18 month contract.

Palsson was delighted to be back at Easter Road, he said:

"I played for Iceland under-21s against Scotland at Easter Road a few months ago and I was really impressed with the atmosphere; it is a special stadium.

"As soon as I was aware of Hibernian's interest, I was really keen to join the club and to work with the manager; it is a really exciting move for me.

"I believe the Scottish league will suit my way of playing and I am looking forward to playing for Hibernian.

"Edinburgh is a great city and everything about the move indicates it is the right decision for me."
