Hibs defender Liam Fontaine is said to be in talks over a possible move to Ross County.
The English defender was due to play for the club's development side today but was pulled after contact from the Highland side.
Fontaine has not featured this season, having picked up an injury, and has then struggled to get back in the side since his return to fitness.
It now seems his three-and-a-half year spell at Easter Road is coming to an end.
The 32-year-old is a hugely popular player amongst the Hibs support and should he leave, he would leave a legend, having been part of the Hibees 2016 Scottish Cup winning side, and the 2017 Scottish Championship winning side.
Speaking about the possible move, Hibs boss Neil Lennon said:
“Liam is fit but he has just not been getting in the squad.
“McGregor, Hanlon and Ambrose have been outstanding of late and Ryan Porteous is ahead of Liam as well. I have plenty of cover at centre back."
Fontaine has played 100 times for the Hibees, scoring 4 goals in the process.
