Hibs have today revealed that defender Marvin Ekpiteta has signed for English side MK Dons.
The 29-year-old has signed for the English League Two side for an undisclosed fee after only 1 season in Scotland.
Ekpiteta signed for the Hibees on a free transfer from Blackpool last summer, and after a sticky start had started to impress in a Hibs shirt.
Unfortunately he picked up an injury, and the Hibees form went supernova, meaning the 6ft 4in stopper failed to force his way back into the side.
He hasn't gained any game time in the opening games of the new season, and has now been allowed to return south of the border.
Marv played 17 times for the Hibees.
Hibs boss David Gray said:
“I’d like to thank Marv for his positive attitude and efforts during his time with us. He has been a pleasure to work with every day, and we wish him all the best for the future.
“Unfortunately, he’s found it hard to break back into the team over the last nine months, and he has a real desire to play football regularly, so this transfer works for everyone involved.”
HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW
We feel for big Marv, when the Hibees form was shocking last season, he seemed to be the one showing some grit and promise.
However his injury couldn't have come at a worse time, he lost his place and never got it back.
He should stroll League Two in England.
Good luck Marv from everyone at Hibs-Mad Towers.
