Hibs defender Richie Towell has been rewarded for his fine form, with a call-up to the Ireland U21 squad.
The Irish face Portugal in Agueda, in a friendly on Friday 25th March 2011, and if chosen, he will pick up his 3rd U21 cap. Towell is on loan at the Hibees from Celtic, and has impressed at right back since arriving from Parkhead in January. The 19-year-old has also represented Ireland at U17 level. So far in his career, he has made just 1 appearance for Celtic, and at this point, 8 for the Hibees.
He signed for Celtic in 2007 from Irish side Crumlin United.
