Dumbarton have revealed that young defender Scott Smith has agreed a pre-contract move from Hibs for this summer.

The 21-year-old is currently on loan at the 1st division side from Easter Road, and has decided to make the move permanent.

Smith is currently in his third loan spell away from the Hibees, having previously spent time on loan at East Fife and Brechin City.

He has chalked up some decent experience now, clocking up nearly 50 games in his three loan spells.

Dumbarton boss, and former Hibs captain, Ian Murray said:

"Scott will be our player from 1 July.

"I'm delighted to have his signature and Scott is happy to be with us for the new campaign."

Smith was recently told by Pat Fenlon, along with goalkeeper Calum Antell, that he was to be released this summer, but he has quickly found himself a new club.

Good luck Scott from everyone at Hibernian-Mad
