Hibs boss Alan Stubbs has confirmed that Islam Feruz has left the club.
The 20-year-old joined the Hibees from Chelsea on the final day of the transfer window in the summer, but he has failed to make an impact at Easter Road.
Feruz made just 6 appearances for the club, all from the substitutes bench.
Feruz joins Henri Anier in having his loan deal terminated early.
Speaking to Hibs TV, Stubbs said:
"We have contacted Chelsea, and they are fine about it.
"There's some paperwork to be completed before it's official, but Islam has left the club.
"I couldn't offer him the game time he wanted due to the form of the players in front of him."
Hibs have also loaned out fringe players Sam Stanton to Livingston and Jordon Forster to Plymouth Argyle in the last week.
Former Hearts defender Adam Eckersley has also been released by the club, having never made an appearance in a green & white shirt, following a failed attempt to gain fitness after injury.
Good luck to Islam in the future from everyone at Hibs-Mad
