Hibs enter race to sign Billy McKay

Hibs have today entered the race to sign Wigan Athletic forward Billy McKay

Dundee Utd have already had a £200,000 offer accepted for the striker, after chasing him all summer, but according to press reports, Hibs have made an 11th hour attempt to land the forward.

Hibs would have to match Utd's bid for the former Inverness goal machine, and have some cash following the recent £275,000 sale of Scott Allan to Celtic.

McKay only joined Wigan in January but has failed to hold down a regular place for the English League One side, playing only 8 games and scoring no goals.
