Hibs fans were today handed the news they had all been waiting on, with the news that Leigh Griffiths will be staying at Easter Road.

Boss Pat Fenlon has managed to persuade his parent club Wolves to extend the Scotland international's loan deal until the summer.

Griffiths arrived last summer on an initial 6 month loan deal, his second at Easter Road, and has been in fine form.

The 22-year-old former Dundee and Livingston youngster has hit 14 goals this season so far, and also landed his first Scotland cap against Luxembourg in November last year.

Griffiths was delighted to be staying at the club he loves, speaking to the official club website, he said:

"This season has been the most enjoyable of my career so far and I'm really pleased to be staying at Hibs.

"I've been playing for the team I support and scoring goals to help the club challenge near the top of the table.

"Now the loan deal has been extended I can focus on my football and repay the club and the manager for continuing to show their faith in me."
