Hibs eye move for Steven Whittaker

Last updated : 01 May 2017 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have tonight been linked with a summer move for defender Steven Whittaker.

According to Sunsport, the Scotland international is high on Hibs boss Neil Lennon's wish list.

The 32-year-old is a free agent in the summer, when his Norwich City contract runs out, and the Carrow Road club are not expected to offer him a new deal.

Whittaker left Easter Road ten years ago in a £2m move to the now defunct Rangers, before moving to Norwich in 2012 when Rangers were liquidated.

Hibs are expected to face competiton for his signature, but it's believed he is open on a return to Scotland.

Whittaker is, of course, part of the Hibees 2007 League Cup winning side, and would add real quality for next season's return to the Scottish Premiership.

He has played over 470 games in his career, winning trophies at every club he has played for, picking up 10 winners medals, he also played in the 2008 Uefa Cup final, the English Premiership and been capped 31 times by Scotland.

Bring him home Lenny!!
