Hibs eyeing Preston keeper Chris Maxwell??

Last updated : 20 June 2019 By Steve Forbes

According to reports in the press in the last 24 hours, Hibs are eyeing a move for Preston North End keeper Chris Maxwell.

Apparently Hibs boss Paul Heckingbottom is keen on a season long loan deal for the experienced keeper.

Heckingbottom is looking to add some competition for No.1 Ofir Marciano, who has spoken to the press in the last few days about moving to a "bigger club".

Maxwell, 28, has represented Wales at numerous levels from U17 to U23 and is a regular squad member of the full national side.

He has played over 350 games in a career that has seen him turn out for the likes of Preston North End and Fleetwood Town.

Maxwell joined Charlton Athletic on loan during the January transfer window last season, but failed to make an appearance.

The Hibees have already secured the signing of Scott Allan from Celtic and defender Adam Jackson from Barnsley, and it seems Maxwell is next on the radar.
