Hibs face competition to sign Claros

It's been revealed tonight that Hibs face a fight to keep on loan midfielder Jorge Claros.

The Honduran international signed on loan with the Hibees last January, after a proposed move to Rangers collapsed (just like the club).

After a poor start to life in Scotland last season, Claros has been outstanding as the Hibees enjoy a much better season this time round.

Hibs stepped in and the player signed on loan for 12 months, that deal is up on the 31st of this month.

According to his club, Honduran's Montagua, Hibs have tabled a bid to extend the loan until the end of this season, but other club's are now interested in the 33 times capped midfielder, and have tabled cash bids for the player.

Without naming the club's involved, Montagua director Julio Gutierrez said:

“Hibernian are interested in having the player in their ranks and we are evaluating whether it is the best option for the player and the team.

“We are also considering other offers and we have to come to a decision.

“We will accept both offers [of either a sale or loan] depending on what is best for the player.”
