Hibs Moroccan forward Abdessalam Benjelloun has hinted for the first time that he wants to leave Easter Road and join Anderlecht.

The 23-year-old former Maghreb Fez forward is wanted by the Belgian giants, but is being tracked by a number of other clubs.

Benji made his debut for the Hibees in 2006 and has gone on to make over 50 games for the club.

He became a cult hero amongst the Hibs support when finished top goal scorer in the CIS Cup as the Hibees lifted the trophy in 2006/07. He scored two goals in the final as Hibs beat
Kilmarnock 5-1.

According to press reports, "Benji" has said:

"I have other options, but I want to join Anderlecht."

The Moroccan has also been urged, however, to join his countryman, Mbark Boussoufa, in
Belgium.

The former
Chelsea forward and fellow Morocco international has revealed that he would like Benji to join him at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium this summer.

Boussoufa said:

"I have spoken about Anderlecht with Benjelloun, and he is very interested in the possibility of a transfer to them. He told me that he would love the chance to play in the Champions League for them.

"I have also discussed the topic of him joining with
Anderlecht's general manager, Herman van Holsbeeck. I don't yet know whether he will sign, but a good player like him is always welcome."

Has Benji played his last game in a Hibs shirt??

Let's be honest, Benji has spent the last six months standing up-front himself with his hands on his hips.

He has SO much talent, but it seems he's too lazy to fulfil it!
