Hibs boss Neil Lennon has handed a trial to former Birmingham City defender Neil Eardley.

The Wales international defender is available under freedom of contract after his release from the Midlands club during the summer.

Eardley has been given the chance to impress at the Hibees state-of-the-art training facility, following a horrible run of injury's while with Birmingham City.

He signed a 3-year-deal with the Blues in 2013, then picked up a knee injury, later diagnosed as a ruptured medial ligament and a partial tear to the anterior cruciate ligament, that kept him out for the season.

After his comeback he was sent out on loan with Leyton Orient, but returned to St Andrews to only then dislocate his shoulder, that kept him out another 3 months.

He then returned again, only to then pick up a cruciate Ligament injury, he was released at the end of his contract, only managing 21 games in three years.

Eardley has plenty of experience, playing 270 games in his career, and scoring 12 times, having played for Oldham Athletic and Blackpool as well as Birmingham.

He has been capped 16 times by Wales.
