It has been revealed today that Hibs will hand Strathspey Thistle striker Josh Peters a chance to win a contract at Easter Road.

The 19-year-old is to head to East Mains for a trial period, but no date has been set yet.

He has scored 13 times this season for the Highland league side.

Peters has already had a trial with Hamilton Accies, and is being watched by Raith Rovers, Ross County and several clubs from south of the border.

Strahspey manager Brian Grant said:

“Josh has done really well but he still has a few rough edges to iron out in his game.

“It is good news for him that there seems to be a lot of interest from Scottish league clubs. Hibs have made an approach to take Josh down to Easter Road on trial, although no date has yet been set for him to go  to Edinburgh.

“One day he may be rubbing shoulders with Anthony Stokes  for the Hibees.”
