Hibs hand trial to Polish defender Filip Modelski

Last updated : 02 September 2016 By Steve Forbes

Hibs have handed a trial to transfer target Filip Modelski.

The Polish international defender had been linked with a move to Easter Road before the transfer window closed, but the club's interest in the player was said to have "cooled".

Modelski, 23, has now been handed a trial at the Hibees East Mains training facility, in a bid to impress boss Neil Lennon.

He is a free agent after leaving Polish club Jagellonia Bialystock, allowing the club to sign the player despite the transfer window now being closed.

Modelski started his career in England with West Ham, before moving home to play for GKS Bełchatów and then Bialystock.

He has one full international cap, and has also been capped at various youth levels.

Hibs boss Neil Lennon is on the look out for a right sided defender to give Sir David Gray some competition/cover.
