Hibs interested in Burnley striker Steven Thompson

Hibs have today been linked with a move for former Scotland forward Steven Thompson.

The 32-year-old is currently with Championship side Burnley, but according to press reports in close to a move to Easter Road.

The former Rangers and Dundee Utd striker has found himself way down the pecking order at Turf Moor, and is said to be keen move clubs.

Hibs boss Colin Calderwood is said to have offered the player a move back to Scotland to join the struggling Hibees, and personal terms are being discussed.

Calderwood has already snapped up Nottingham Forest midfielder Matt Thornhill, Ross County midfielder Martin Scott, as well as Celtic youngster Ritchie Towell on loan until the end of the season, with more new faces expected over the next few days.
