Hibs Ladies Release Six

Last updated : 13 June 2023 By Steve Forbes

New Hibs Ladies boss Grant Scott has wasted no time after taken over recently and has released a number of players.

Included are strikers Crystal Thomas and Katie Lockwood, who have both been impressive signingsand come as a bit of a surprise.

American Thomas, who looked absolute dynamite at times, has left after an injury ravaged season, despite this, she hit 8 goals in 13 games.

English striker Lockwood only arrived in January, but managed 7 goals in 19 games.

Also leaving at the end of her contract is popular Norwegian keeper Benedicte Haaland, who had an excellent season, keeping 9 clean sheets in 36 games.

Another striker leaving is Swede Nor Mustafa, who managed 5 goals in 32 games.

Midfielders Liana Hinds, 32 games 2 goals and Ava Kuyken, 26 games and 1 goal, have also left the club.

Also, returning to Liverpool is Hibs Ladies Player of the Year Lucy Parry, after her loan deal ended.

HIBS-MAD VIEW

A few surprising exits in that, especially striker Crystal Thomas who was very, very good when she was fit. Fast and direct she caused problems whoever we played, and had she been fit, who knows what type of season we would have had.

Two others who are a bit of a shock are Haaland and Lockwood, both impressed in the green and white and could be hard to replace.

All on, 7 players leaving and who could be tough to replace.

However, we know how good a coach Grant Scott is, so we must trust the process.

Good luck Ladies wherever you end up. Once a Hibee......
