Hibs leave Black Knight Group

Hibs have today confirmed that they have left the Black Knight FC Group.

Billionaire Bill Foley has sold his 25% stake in the club back to the Gordon Family, who now own 85% of the club.

Foley and the Black Knight's bought their shares in the Hibees two years ago for £6m and made big promises about the future at Easter Road.

However, reports soon surfaced that Foley was not happy with the Gordon's decisions and was also unhappy with the appointment of David Gray as manager and Malky Mackay as DOF.

Hibs then revealed that meetings had taken place and things were in a good place, and it seemed like everything was moving forward with two Black Knight's, Ryan Caswell and Tim Bezbatchenko appointed to the board of directors.

Rumours then began to circulate just last night that Foley wanted out after Ian Gordon had refused to let Hibs be used as a feeder club for Bournemouth, and it was confirmed today.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

For what was just a rumour 24 hours ago, this moved very quickly and the Hibees are no longer involved in the Black Knight group.

A very exciting tie-up that turned into an almost pointless exercise.

Foley seemed to want to control everything with a 25% stake and didn't like the push back.

Hibs, apart from the initial investment, never really got much from the link-up, a loan deal for Emiliano Marcondes was exciting at the start, but he came after months on the injury table, and wasn't anywhere near fit.

Marcondes showed glimpses of his quality, but left after a half decent spell in Edinburgh.

Then came the farce of the loan signing of Owen Bevan, who arrived injured, to then leave without playing a game after breaking down in rehab.

Hibs were said to be close to landing Bevan on another loan deal the following transfer window, and it broke down again due to another injury.

The Hibees did sign Nathan Moriah-Welsh from the Cherries for a fee, and he did well but then fell down the pecking order and has since joined Mansfield Town.

It's a dissapointing end to what seemed like a very exciting oppertunity, but the Gordon family have got this 100% spot on, Hibs should never be a feeder club for Bournemouth.

Mr Foley never stepped foot inside Easter Road either, which says a lot as to where Hibs landed in his thinking......

It seems like the goal posts were moved from the initial promises.

A multi-club partnership should benefit all parties, not just the one in the moneyball league.
