Hibs have today been linked with a move for Dutch defender Norichio Nieveld.

The 23-year-old is currently a free agent after leaving Dutch giants Feyenoord after his contract expired.

He has spent the last three seasons on loan at Excelsior in the Eredivisie, and has made close to 100 appearances in that time, and counted former Hibs midfielder Edwin De Graaf as his team mate.

Excelsior are a "satellite club" of Feyenoord, basically a feeder club, who recieve highly rated youngsters on loan from the Dutch giants, and get a fee in the process.

Nieveld is apparently going to spend the rest of the Hibees mini tour of Europe training with the club.

The Dutch press are even claiming that Hibs are already keen to get him on board, and are set to open contract talks with the player.

The only stumbling block facing the Hibees is that English Championship side Peterborough are also said to be keen on the player.
