Hibs have been linked with a summer move for Forest Green Rovers striker Christian Doidge.

According to the South Wales Argus, Doidge has impressed Hibs manager Neil Lennon.

6ft 2in Doidge, 24, has hit 27 goals this season, including a stunning strike as Forest Green secured promotion to the football league for the first time in their history, by beating Tranmere Rovers 3-1 in the National League Promotion Final at Wembley on Sunday.

Hibs are on the look-out for a big, powerful forward to replace Grant Holt, and it seems the prolific former Southampton youth player is on Lennon's radar.

However, Interest in Doidge is high, with the likes of Charlton Ath, Portsmouth & Shrewsbury Town likely to provide competition for his signature.

He still has a year left on his contract with the newly promoted English League Two side, so Hibs would have to pay a fee for any move to Easter Road.

Doidge has played most of his career in his native Wales, with the likes of Cwmbran Celtic, Croesyceiliog, Barry Town & Carmarthen Town amongst his former clubs.

He has also played in the English leagues with Dagenham & Redbridge, before joining Forest Green Rovers, and has scored over 100 goals in his career to date.
