Hibs have been linked with a transfer deadline day move for former midfielder Scott Allan.
The 26-year-old is currently on loan at Dundee from Celtic and according to the Daily Star, the Dens Park club would be willing to cut the loan deal short, to allow the player to move, should Hibs give them a player in return.
Any move could also be helped by the fact Celtic are apparently interested in Dundee keeper Scott Bain, who has just joined the Hibees on loan.
Should Hibs allow Bain to cut his Easter Road loan deal short, paving the way for Celtic to sign him, Hibs could make their move for Allan.
Allan left the Hibees after one season, in 2015, in a reported £375,000 transfer, following a controversial courting by boyhood side Rangers.
Hibs refused to sell the player to the Ibrox club, and also turned down a bid from Rotherham, paving the way for him to sign on at Parkhead.
The Hibees have just released Anthony Stokes, freeing up some wages, and Hibs boss Neil Lennon has already stated his intent to land an attacking midfielder before the transfer window closes tonight.
