Sammy Clingan has today become the latest player to be linked with a move to Easter Road.

Hibs boss Alan Stubbs is keen to strengthen his midfield after Liam Craig, Scott Robertson left the club, and Dylan McGeouch's loan deal ended.

Clingan left Kilmarnock at the end of May after 2-and-a-half years in Ayrshire and is looking for a new club.

The 31-year-old is the defensive type midfielder Stubbs is on the look-out for, to compliment the attacking instincts of Scott Allan, Fraser Fyvie, Martin Boyle and Danny Carmichael in the Hibees midfield.

Clingan has previously played for the likes of Nottingham Forest, Norwich City and Doncaster Rovers.

He has played over 350 games in his career, scoring 22 goals, and has been capped by Northern Ireland 36 times, as well as being capped at U15, 16, 19, 21 & 23 level.
