Hibs have today been linked with a move for Sheffield United attacker Jamie Murphy.
Murphy, 24, has been hampered with injury since singing for the Blades, from Motherwell, in £250,000 deal last January.
The former Scotland U21 star has only managed 25 appearances and has scored two goals since signing for the Brammal Lane club.
Murphy was handed his professional debut by Hibs No.2 Maurice Malpas, when he managed Motherwell, when took over from current Hibs boss Terry Butcher, when he took the reigns at FC Sydney is Australia.
Apparently Butcher has been keeping an eye on the players situation, after he was given a glowing report by Malpas.
It isn't clear how keen new Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough would be in letting Murphy leave the League One side, but Hibs are set to test the waters.
Hibs best chance of landing Murphy, who can play on either wing or through the middle as either an attacking midfielder or as an out and out striker, could be a loan deal until the summer.
