Hibs linked with veteran striker Adam Le Fondre

Hibs are tonight being linked with a move for veteran English striker Adam Le Fondre.

The 36-year-old is a free agent after leaving Australian A-League side Sydney FC.

English hitman Le Fondre has spent the last 5 years in Australia, with a loan move to India in between and has a superb scoring record, he hit 73 goals in 128 games in the A-League, and has scored 273 times in 694 games in an incredible career.

Hibs were linked with Le Fondre way back in 2011-12 whilst he was with Rotherham, but he signed for Reading in a £350,000 deal, and he was again linked with Easter Road in 2018 under former boss Neil Lennon.

He went on to have spells with the likes of Cardiff City, Bolton, Wigan and Wolves.

According to the report Hibs new DOF Brian McDermott has targeted the striker, who he knows well after he managed him at Reading.

The Hibees are in the market to replace Kevin Nisbet who signed for Millwall this week in a £2.2m deal.

HIBS-MAD VIEW

He certainley knows how to score goals!!!

Le Fondre has had a brilliant career, but at 36, doesn't suit Hibs recent normal signing profile.

Mind you, with McGeady gone, McDermott and boss Lee Johnson may think we need more experience in a pretty young squad.

The Hibees currently only have Elias Melkersen, Christian Doidge and Harry McKirdy as out and out strikers, and it looks like Doidge could be heading for the exit door.

Both McKirdy and Melkersen have so far failed to fire since big money moves to Easter Road.
