Hibs have made a move to sign in-demand Sligo Rovers striker Johnny Kenny.

According to a number of reports in the press, Hibs are set to beat Celtic to the striker, after he was shown round the Hibees training facility and was then a guest at the midweek win over Dundee at Easter Road.

The Hibees are expected the pounce once the January Transfer Window opens at the end of the month, by triggering the £130,000 release clause in the Republic of Ireland U19 strikers contract.

Kenny is tied to Sligo until the summer of 2024, and scored 11 goals in 33 games over the past year for the "Bit O' Red".

Hibernian-Mad View:

Good to see the club active and ready to go once the window opens.

This January could be a massive one of the club after such a poor one in the summer.

Kenny looks an exciting talent, and it would be good to gt one over on Celtic, should the club pull it off.
