According to reports in tonight's press, Hibs midfielder Alex Gogic is wanted by SPFL pair Ross County and St Mirren.

The Daily Record is reporting that new Hibs boss Shaun Maloney may let the former Hamilton man leave to free up more wages so he can bolster his squad when the January transfer window opens (Midnight tonight).

Gogic has been our-of-favour at Easter Road for most of the season and has already been linked with a move to English minnows Morecambe who are said to be keen.

The 27-year-old is out-of-contract at the end of the season, and can now talk to interested clubs about a possible pre-contract move ahead of the summer.

Morecame are said to be not his only suitor in England, whilst a number of Cypriot and Greek sides are keeping a close eye on the situation.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW:

It is probably the best for all concerned that Gogic leaves Easter Road.

He started his career in Edinburgh in fine form, but has fallen well down the pecking order after some poor performances in the green and white.

Hibs boss Shaun Maloney will be looking to strengthen his side this window, and may see Gogic as a player he can sacrifice to free up space in the wages department.

The Hibees are expected to be busy this window after a stinker in the summer, that ultimately cost previous boss Jack Ross his job.

Could Gogic be the first to go?
